We've been pretty busy working on the house. We started painting the interior a couple weeks ago, and finished last Sunday. I am so thankful to Pete Morton who primed our house and then lent us a commercial sized paint roller that cut the time of painting in half. I actually enjoyed the process, especially when I got to work without the kiddos in tow. I would turn on my ipod and spend the time listening to sermons or singing along to music - but only if I was there alone :) There is something satisfying about working on your home, not just having other people do it. I think I understand better why some people get really into buying and remodeling homes.
Twice, I did bring the kids with me. I charged the portable DVD player, brought my baby gate to keep them in whatever room I was working on, and went to work until one or the other had a meltdown! Laela actually helped paint her own room, with her very own brush. That was special for her as she asked permission to paint her room from the moment we picked her paint color. I think she was a little disappointed we did not do a rainbow of color, but I am not done in there yet :):) Here are a few photos of our rooms so far.

ReplyDeleteI saw your post for the month of April, and I was taken aback at how great your new house turned out! From these bare walls and unfinished flooring, I can tell every section was well-constructed and designed. Hope to read more interesting blogs from you! =D
